I Am Daniel

I am a strong young man

I wonder why everybody makes fun of me

I hear the kids laugh at me

I see kids throw paper at me

I want the kids to stop bullying me

I am a strong young man

I pretend to fit in with people who bothered me

I feel proud to be me

I touch people when I do good

I worry about people all the time

I pray for homeless people

I cry for gay marriage

I am a strong young man

I understand when people bothered me

I say things are not fine

I am a man who takes responsiblity for what I have done

I dream about men taking responsiblities for themselves

I try to do my best every day

I hope to continue to work hard and pursue my careers

I am a strong young man

Kids can be the cruelest part of humanity. And usually when someone is different from the group of kids who "THINK" they are the coolest they try to impress each other with acts of cruelty. Teenagers are under lots of pressure to Fit In; that is the beginning of the danger signs. Teenagers are going through a lot of biological changes emotionally and physically. I think that you are strong and brave to face these daily challenges. But you do not have to accept being mistreated by anyone. Maybe you can find a group of teenagers more like yourself--the ones that have a sense of the world that they live in. The ones that have figured out that they are tomorrow. And Daniel, since you are expressing yourself creatively you have higher goals than instant gratification of hurting someone different. I think that you are ahead of the game. Spend a little time alone creating, therapeutically writing your poems and getting stronger. Daniel, do not allow anyone to hurt you. That is NOT acceptable. Stay away from those kids that are cruel and trying to impress each other at your expense. Is there an adult that is a part of your actual life (not your virtual life) that you can confide in? It's very important to let someone you KNOW that you need help through this time in your life.
